There are so many historical evidences that support the fact that Dokdo is Korean territory, not Japanese. In Samguksagi (History of the Three Kingdoms), it says "General Yi Sa-bu of Silla conquered Usanguk in 1145¡°. In Sejong Sillok, Jiriji (Geography Section of the Annals of King Sejong¡¯s Reign) (1454), it indicates the location of Ulleungdo and Dokdo. In 1693, through Korean fisherman An Yong-bok¡¯s incident Dokdo was reaffirmed as Korean territory according to international law. According to Tottorihan¡¯s reply to an inquiry of the Edo Shogunate (Dec. 25, 1695), "Neither Takeshima (Ulleungdo) nor Matsushima (Dokdo) belongs to the Tottori-han." According to the Cairo Declaration (1943) and the Potsdam Declaration (1945), ¡±Japan will also be expelled from all other territories which she has taken by violence and greed.¡° Dokdo was taken away by Japan with whole Korean Peninsula during Japanese occupation, but after Korea¡¯s independence the sovereignty of Dokdo became Korea¡¯s again
There can be misunderstanding but as long as you knew the truth, I believe there will be action corresponding to the truth. The process of correcting may be laborious, but this misunderstanding could lead to people gaining false knowledge about the history and if it is not straightened now, this mistake will be repeated as cycle. Therefore, I require you to change the word ¡°Takeshima¡± to ¡°Dokdo¡± and revise incorrect history. I will be looking forward to your reply and further questions are welcomed.
