thank you for sending feedback regarding the Arcadia article "Fishing for Empire: Settlement and Maritime Conflict in the Russian Far East."
We will look into the matter of the official name of the Sea of Japan more closely, as you suggested. However, my initial research into the topic shows that although the name has been a matter of dispute, the IHO considers "Japan Sea" or "Sea of Japan" the official name according to its publication "Limits of Oceans and Seas."
