The map creators did not respond to our eMail.
Please note that Sea_of_Japan_Map-zh-classical.png may not be overwritten by a version reflecting the South Korean point of view. Such a version may be uploaded as a separate file, but only replace usages of the current map file if there is consensus supporting such a replacement on the respective local projects.
The name "Sea of Japan" was agreed upon by the community of the English Wikipedia in 2005 as part of a discussion on what to name that body of water <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia_talk:Naming_conventions_%28Korean%29/Disputed_names>. The name was chosen over "East Sea" because it has been agreed upon as the common name by Wikipedians.
It does not matter how many people write to us, this answer will not change.
