Hello Sejin, my name is Cameron and I am a volunteer with the Wikipedia Email Response Team. On Wikipedia we have several policies that govern our naming conventions for articles. These polices are located in our Manual of Style (linked below) in particular our Manual of Style requires we use what is called a "common name" for our article titles. While the name "East Sea" may have been around longer; the "Sea of Japan" has been colloquially used far wider than "East Sea" which from my brief research appears to mainly be the phrase used in Korea.

Further; the International Hydrographic Organization, the international governing body for the naming bodies of water around the world, in 2012 recognized the term "Sea of Japan" as the only title for the sea. Based on these facts it would be unlikely that the article would be renamed. However you can make such a suggestion on the article talk page by filing a Requested Move (also linked below).
