Thank you for your email, and apologies for the delay in getting back to you.
I'm afraid that while we're responsible for the maps of species' distributions, on our website these are overlaid on basemaps which we are not responsible for the contents of. The map browser offers eight different basemaps, with different strengths and weaknesses, and each also labels locations with different names. We're not able to change the labels on these maps, which are not produced by the IUCN, but I've noticed that there is a range of different labels showing Dokdo / Liancourt / Takeshima and East Sea / Sea of Japan.
