Soo-Kyun Kim,

Thank you for using the Climatic Atlas of the North Pacific Seas 2009. We welcome all feedback and comments on our products and services.

Standard geographical naming is a national policy of the United States, as determined by our Department of State to which NOAA must adhere. This policy states that ¡°Sea of Japan¡± is the standard name used in all U.S. federal publications for the body of water between the Korean Peninsula and Japanese Archipelago. The Department of State also indicates that the U.S. does not support dual naming practices for seas, particularly in standardized publications.

Sincerely, Andy
