Dear a person in charge of The Opri Center of Island Studies,

I'm writing to complain that you claim and the explain Dok-do, the part of my country is the territory of Japan. I strongly ask you to correct this mistake and you shouldn't insist Dokdo as an island of Japan's islands.

Japan's island territories that the Republic of Korea has continued to occupy illegally by force since 1953

on your website, you explained the consistent positions of Japan as follows.

  1. Takeshima is indisputably an inherent part of the territory of Japan, in light of historical facts and based on international law.

  2. My country,The Republic of Korea has been occupying Takeshima with no basis in international law. Any measures the Republic of Korea takes regarding Takeshima based on such an illegal occupation have no legal justification.

  3. Japan will continue to seek the settlement of the dispute over territorial sovereignty over Takeshima on the basis of international law in a calm and peaceful manner.

All above are totally opposite and they have been proved wrong in the World history.
Therefore, you shouldn't claim the above as actual facts.
Please accept it and change your attitude.
I'm looking forward to your reply.
Thank you in advance of your cooperation.

Truly,

Andy Yoo from South Korea.
