To Whom it may concern,

Dear Sir or Madam,

I am Seonwon Kim from South Korea.

I am finding out typographical errors about Korean history or territory.

Incidentally, I saw something mistaken on your website.

I try to urge to correct the wrong term ¡°Sea of Japan¡°  to the right term "East Sea".

º»·Ð

Now let me tell you the reason why Korean people says 'East Sea' instead of 'Sea of Japan'.

According to the ancient Korean history book, Samguksagi,

several ancient Korean maps said the name "East Sea".

It was 2000 years ago that people named it.

In contrast, "Sea of Japan used in 1602.

Even Japanese people did not recognized the area of East Sea as their territory at that time.

I appreciate to your time and patience of reading my opinion.

Still, there have been some conflicts between Japan and Korea.

You should know, however, that many historical evidences supported  East Sea is the right term

Please reply to me if there is any positive change on your website.

Sincerely,

Seonwon Kim
