Used the name of a country named Japan has officially began when the 8th century. But the East Sea has been Korea's territory since the 6th century, when Dokdo was found. East Sea is used more than 700 years earlier than the name of Japan . Therefore, the name or 'East Sea' has historical legitimacy compared to the name of 'Sea of Japan'.
