I take it as a great honor to write to you, Mr. Taylor. My name is Yoon-seong Shin, and I'm proud to introduce myself to be a student of Hana Academy Seoul, as well as one of the people of the Republic of Korea.

I'm also working as an active member of the Dokdo Cyber Press, a non-governmental and voluntary organization with the mandate to provide correct information about Korea to the international community, including textbook publishers.

I am writing this letter to you with respect to the misleading map on your website. (http://www.mmtaylor.net/Literacy_Book/DOCS/ch1.html)

To my great surprise, the ocean that is located between the Korean peninsula and the Japanese archipelago, whose original name is the "East Sea," is wrongly named as the "Sea of Japan.'"

As a Korean national who is fully aware of how the island is enthusiastically beloved by our people, as a high school student who wants to make good use of my knowledge to contribute to this world, I could not help but write to this letter to you.

°á·Ð
Therefore, I humbly ask you to seriously consider the issue of correcting the ¡°Sea of Japan¡± to the ¡°East Sea.¡± If you are not the one who can correct this map, please replace it with another that has correctly named the "East Sea." Please visit the website (http://dokdo.mofat.go.kr) for more specific information on geographical designations if you need any.

I would like to once again appreciate your time for reviewing my letter and will be more than honored to get reply from you via my e-mail (shinys1112@naver.com).

Yours sincerely,

Yoon-seong Shin
