My name is Ju-hee Sung and I'm proud to introduce myself to be a Korean national and a student of zkis(zhongshi korean international school) in weihai.

I'm also working as an active member of the Dokdo Cyber Press, a non-governmental and voluntary organization with the mandate to provide correct information about Korea to the international community, including textbook publishers and website managers.

With all due respect, I am writing this letter to you regarding the misleading map on your website. (http://www.lib.utexas.edu/maps/cia12/korea_south_sm_2012.gif )

To my great surprise, the ocean that is located between the Korean peninsula and the Japanese archipelago, whose original name is the "East Sea," is wrongly named the "Sea of Japan."  thus the name of the sea between the Korean Peninsula and the Japanese archipelago, currently named as the “Sea of Japan” in your company’s map, should be corrected to the “East Sea.” (like those on this page;    http://www.lib.utexas.edu/maps/middle_east_and_asia/korea_north_pol_2005.jpg )

As a Korean national who is fully aware of how the East Sea is enthusiastically beloved by our people, and as a high school student who wants to make good use of my knowledge to contribute to this world, I could not help but write this letter to you.

Therefore, I humbly ask you to seriously consider this issue and to replace the erroneous map with correct one. Please visit the website (http://dokdo.mofat.go.kr) for more specific information on geographical designations if you need any.
