Actually,
it is in dispute what word would be correct “East Sea” or “Sea of Japan”.
Throughout the history, “East Sea” would be more correct because “Sea of Japan”
is related with the period of imperialism but,
currently UN recommends describing the water between Korea and Japan using both
words, “East Sea” and “Sea of Japan”, at the same time.
