To Whomever It May Concern
Recently I visited your website below: http://www.dfat.gov.au/geo/rok/brief_index.html
And I was quite surprised to find your website describe that The Korean Peninsula was first unified as a sovereign state in 918 under the Goryeo Dynasty (the source of the English-language name "Korea"). Such an error on such a well-known and Australian governmental website such as yours comes as a surprise since we regard that you provide only correct information.

If you leave this thing alone, most Koreans will be disappointed about Australia and the national image of Australia in Korean society could be discounted. Furthermore, it would cause serious diplomatic conflicts between Australia and Republic of Korea.
The initial state of Korea was Gojoseon Kingdom which was established in 2333 B.C. Before Goryeo Dynasty period, Silla Dynasty unified Korean peninsula. For your reference, please visit another governmental websites of USA and Korea at the link below:

As a member of the Dokdo cyber organization, I urge you to remove the sentence that The Korean Peninsula was first unified as a sovereign state in 918 under the Goryeo Dynasty. And add description about Gojoseon and Three Kingdoms and Gaya before you describe Goryeo dynasty. |
