Dear blog master,
Hello, I am Dan Kim from South Korea. I am a member of the Dokdo Cyber Press, a non-governmental and voluntary organization to provide correct information about Korea and Dokdo to the international world, and fix wrong information surrounding Dokdo and Korea. I am sending this email to provide correct information so that your website could improve.

I was very shocked to find the picture of Japan you used. In the map of Japan, 'East Sea' was marked as 'Sea of Japan', which is incorrect. By your website's wrong declaration, others could get incorrect information. The water between the Korean Peninsular and the Japanese archipelago should be marked as 'East Sea' and 'Sea of Japan' simultaneously. According to IHO and UNCSGN, when two or more countries share a specific topography, the designation should be decided with consultation. If the countries can't make a resolution, the designation of each country should be written side-by-side.
South Korea's Ministry of Froeign Affairs promoted a joint council on the declaration issue. However, Japan government's uncompromising attitude made no results, and the council is deadlocked. Therefore, before Korea and Japan conclude about this issue, 'East Sea' and 'Sea of Japan' should be written side-by-side, like 'East Sea/Sea of Japan'. So, for the incorrect mark on your website, please change the mark to simultaneously write 'East Sea' and 'Sea of Japan'.

Thank you for reading my email, and I sincerely hope you will think about this issue and fix the wrong mark on your website.
Sincerely yours, Dan Kim |
