Hello Britannica, I¡¯m a user from South Korea! I¡¯ve been using your website, and I found a problem on marking a name of a sea. I wish you could solve this one.

º»·Ð
In one of your posts about Japan, I found an error marking ¡®East sea¡¯ as ¡®Sea of Japan.¡¯ East sea has been Korea¡¯s territory since the 6th century, when Dokdo was found. Dokdo-an island locating in the middle of East sea- is belonged to Korea¡¯s jurisdiction as well as the East sea. Korean armies are dispatched and they take care of the island every single night and day.
However Japan is continuously asserting that Dokdo is part of Japan, providing old documents as evidence. This cannot be a true basis that proves Japan¡¯s claim since Japan damaged tons of Korea¡¯s historical materials over the 35 years they forcibly ruled Korea. They are just arguing with hardly acceptable evidences.

A huge conflict over the ownership of Dokdo and East sea is going on endlessly. Nevertheless it is an obvious fact that Dokdo and East sea has been, and always will be Korea¡¯s territory.
I ask you to expunge ¡®Sea of Japan¡¯ from the map and replace it with ¡®East sea¡¯ only. ¡®Sea of Japan¡¯ is a totally wrong term and it must not be used anywhere. Thank you for reading my long message and I hope this would be reformed soon. Best wishes!
