Recently I bought your book, Concise World Atlas. ISBN is 9780843709650 and the writer’s name is Hammond.
I was quite surprised to find some of your maps of Korea and Japan still describe Korea's 'East Sea' as 'Sea of Japan,' which is incorrect. And you omitted Korean territory, Dokdo island.

Such an error in a well known website as yours comes as a surprise since we regard you as one of the world's best. Using a proper name for this sea and island are not simple question of changing the name of a geographical feature.
It is rather a part of national effort by the Korean people to erase the legacy of Japanese Imperialism and to redress the unfairness that has resulted from it. It is an absolutely mistaken thing to hear one side of story and follow. If we let this kind of things alone, it brings about a serious problem to disturb order of International society.
Unfortunately, when a country dominates another, the main thing lost is the territory. Such was the case of Korea, when Korea was occupied by Japan (1910~1945). However, After the Second World War, Korea, being liberated from Japan, recovered its territory, including Dokdo. In spite of that history, Japan claimed that Dokdo belonged to Japan distorting historical facts. It's because of Japan's hidden policy of imperialistic expansion
The problem is that those fabrications have been well documented, many Western accept the distorted history of Dokdo as fact including your map. We cannot sit back and watch Japan justify its history of aggression and colonization and pursue hegemonic power, because the issue concerns the future of the Korean Peninsula and Northeast Asia.
If international society pays no attention and connives about Japan's hidden policy of imperialistic expansion, it would pose a great obstacle to amicable relations between all the family of Asia and Japan in the 21st century
For your reference, the world's largest commercial mapmaker, National Geographic, worldatlas.com, the travel guidebook, Lonely Planet Publication and textbook publisher, Dorling& Kindersley promised us that they would now use the name 'East Sea.' In addition, National Geographic and Lonely Planet are already using the name, 'East Sea' in their website after we pointed out the error.

As a member of Dokdo cyber organization, I urge you to use 'East Sea' to describe the body of water or both Korean and Japanese designation simultaneously (e.g. 'East Sea/Sea of Japan') in all your documents and atlases. Once Korea and Japan agree on a common designation, which is in accord with the general rule of international cartography, we can then follow the agreed-on designation.
Furthermore, we hope that you would adopt correct name and location of Dokdo island in your map.
