Hello, this is SeoHyun Lee from South Korea. I am working ona project correcting typographical errors about Korea's history and territory. I visited your website and was very upset that you have chosen to mark ‘Takeshima’ instead of the appropriate term ‘Dokdo.’ I hope you would be able to solve this problem.

We are writing to request a site-wide correction for your site that severely violates the territorial notation of Dokdo and the East Sea for the following reasons.

While I was reading one of your posts about East sea, I found a terrible error marking ‘Dokdo’ as ‘Takeshima.’ Dokdo has been Korea’s territory since the 6th century, when Shinla found. Dokdo island located in the middle of East sea belongs to Korea’s jurisdiction as well as the East sea. The history proves that Dokdo belongs to Korea; for example the Imperial edict No. 41, established in 1900 is clearly stating that Dokdo belongs to Korean territory. Also Korean armies are dispatched to take care of the island.

However, the Japanese government is continuously claiming that Dokdo is part of Japan, providing old documents as evidence. This cannot be a fair nor true basis that proves Japan’s claim since Japan damaged tons of Korea’s historical materials over the 35 years they forcibly ruled over Korea. They are just arguing with hardly acceptable evidences and using their diplomatic position to make absurd claims. n addition, If you look at the cultural tourism publications listed on Japanese websites, you can see cases where Dokdo is incorrectly marked as Takeshima. In addition, most of the websites and materials that are mislabeled like this incorrectly claim that Dokdo is Japanese. Based on a number of historical facts and evidence, I think that Dokdo is the land of Japan is absolutely wrong, and I think that Dokdo is the land of Korea should must be proven. In addition, the influence of the website and the Internet is excellent, so we must prevent the spread of false information that Dokdo is Japanese land in these place.

A huge conflict over the ownership of Dokdo and East sea is going on endlessly. Nevertheless it is an obvious fact that Dokdo and East sea has been, and always will be Korea’s territory.

I ask you to delete ‘Sea of Japan’ and replace it with ‘East sea’ only. It is a totally wrong term and it shouldn't be used anywhere. Also, if possible, pleasecontact me back with the implemented change. Thank you for reading my message.
