To whom it may concern,

Hoping this email finds you well, I am Jooyeon Ko, and I am a highschool student in South Korea.

First of all, I really enjoyed looking into all the information about tour service that your website provides.

Since it is hard to travel across countries right now, I was able to feel like planning for a trip.

However, I sent this email because I found an error within your work.

Currently, I have been participating in a campaign in which participants correct clerical errors of Dokdo and East Sea/Sea of Japan in the Internet.

On the web page that you posted a map of Japan for explaining Japan and South Korea cruise, the name of area between the Korean peninsula and Japan is mentioned as Sea of Japan.

As you know, there has been a long dispute between Korea and Japan regarding the name of sea. In other words, how the name of location is a very sensitive issue. According to the resolution made in UN and other international organizations, the appellation of a shared geographical feature must be written side-by-side if the countries directly involved cannot make settlement.

Therefore, as a member of the campaign I urge you to use the proper designation method of the area, which is East Sea/Sea of Japan. It is because there has been no consent between South Korea and Japan regarding it. To read full sentences of these gists, please visit this website at:

Once Korea and Japan agree on a common designation, that is in accord with the general rule of international cartography, we will then follow the agreed-on designation.

Using a proper name for the body of water between the Korean peninsula and the Japanese archipelago is not simply a question of chaning name of a geographical feature. It is part of the national effort by the Korean people to erase the legacy of Jpanese imperialism and to redress unfairness that has resulted from it. Just in case you want some references for further information about this matter, I also attached a website link that explains about this matter. Besides, I hope this email will feed into your web page, and I would appreciate if I can get a reply once you check this.

Thank you and have a wonderful day.

Yours Sincerely

Jooyeon Ko
