Dear Whomever it may Concern,

Greetings.

I am Seonwon Kim, a high school student in South Korea.

I am a member of the Dokdo Cyber press corps, which surf and ask people who concern at the web sites to correct wrong information about the Korean history including East Sea.

This letter means that something on your site was found that needs to correct, regarding this issues.

Please, give me some moments to explain.

I found that the sea between the Korean peninsula and Japan was labeled wth the Sea of Japan.

This is evidently an error that needs correction. This sea has been called as East Sea over 2000 years,

¡°Sea of Japan¡± was used since early 20th century, the period of Japanese Imperialism, which is supported by various ancient historical maps.

Using Sea of Japan seems to be a reminder of Japanese colonialism

Therefore, the right term should be expressed as the ¡°East Sea¡±.

I appreciate your reading my long message.

I ask you to substitute East Sea for Sea of Japan again.

This is a serious problem for us. Therefore we need your understanding to fix this problem.

Please contact us, the Dokdo Cyber press corps if you have any questions or comments against our letter.

Sincerely,

Seonwon
