Dear webmaster,
This is Jinhwan Yoon, a high-schooler who studies at Dan-Kook high school. I am working on a project to make correct historical errors from websites all over the world. While surfing the internet, I came to visit your website below and found a serious error. https://www.gov-online.go.jp/eng/publicity/book/hlj/html/201804/201804_09_en.html You have using the word 'Takeshima' to describe the island in the middle of the East Sea, but the correct name for it is 'Dokdo'.

Dokdo is a small rock island in the southeast of the East sea and consists of 91 islands, big and small. Japan is consistently arguing that Dokdo is the territory of Japan and using the term 'takeshima' to describe it. But it is clear that Dokdo is the territory of South Korea and the reasons are as follows. South Korea has known the existence of Dokdo since a very long time ago and numerous historical documents support this. For example in Samguksagi, one of the oldest historical book in Korea, it is recorded that Silla called Dokdo as Usando after king Isabu had conquered Usanguk Moreover in the 1500s, Joseon's fisherman An young Bok visited Japan and returned with a paper that says "Ulleungdo and Dokdo is the territory of Joseon. In 1900s, Dokdo was officially incorporated into Gangwon-do province through the forty-first article of Korea's imperial order. Even some documents from Japan says that Dokdo is the appropriate name and that the territory belongs to South Korea.

I found that over 100 thousand facebook users liked your facebook page, which means your influence is huge. You set up the website link on your page, so if those users visit your website, they might get the false information about the history of Dokdo.
Therefore, I ask you to make corrections on your website. Thank you for your time and consideration and please text me back if you have any questions.
Sincerely Jinhwan Yoon |
