Dear mapsofworld Hi my name is Sungwook Yun. I am a student of Korea Science Academy in South Korea. While searching for geological information in your website, I found some errors naming the East Sea of Korea as Sea of Japan.

| 본론 |
According to international Tribunal for the Law of the Sea, the territory belongs to South Korea, and named as East Sea of Korea. Error of naming it as Sea of japan can occur political problems between South Korea and Japan. Country's surrounding the East Sea of Korea are very sensitive with the naming of this territory because it is directly related to Exclusive Economic Zone. Exclusive Economic Zone is the zone where countries internationally reached an agreement to gave jurisdiction over natural resources. East Sea of Korea has many valuable resources which is said to be very valuable. As this error of naming of East Sea of Korea is spreading more and more, Japan is arguing a lot insisting that the territory belongs to Japan. I hope this error to be fixed asap so that no conflict will occur.

The territory of East Sea of Korea has been protected by Korean people since a lot ago. However, after South Korea being a colony of Japan, Japan is arguing more and more to get the territory of East Sea of Korea looking for valuable resources under it. I hope this error to be fixed asap to stop spreading wrong information about the ownership of the territory of East Sea of Korea. thank you |
