First of all, I'm not sure how you wrote this sentence, but I can't say that Japan's role during the colonial period contributed to the economic development of Korea. From 1930 to 1945, during the Japanese colonial era, Japan built railways, transported trains, established companies, and developed various farming methods, but did they make Korea financially wealthy? Not at all. Japan took the rice, ore resources, food, cotton fabrics, etc. from the railroads laid in Korea, greatly increased the yield of rice in Korea, and all of them were taken to Japan. Due to this kind of barbarity of Japan, Korea has experienced poor people in poverty, and many people have evacuated.
