Dokdo, is Korea's inherent island, which can never be taken away from any other countries. However, Japan is making an argument that Dokdo is theirs. Taking a look at historical Documents or documentary materials, we can easily notice that Dokdo is clearly denominated as Korea's island.Also, Japan's Foreign Ministry, in 1870, has accepted that Dokdo is Korea's territory, and it is recorded in <조선국교제시말내탐서(朝鮮國交際始末內探書)>. There is no way that Dokdo is Japn's and no reason for Dokdo to be called as Takeshima.

Therefore, I strongly request you to change the title of the small, valuable island from Takeshima to Dokdo, in order to develop the strong relationship between Korea and Japan. |
