Dear webmaster of JNTO,

Hello, I¡¯m Rahyeon-Tae, a student from Hana Academy Seoul in South Korea.
Thank you for the informative website about Japan.

º»·Ð

However, I have something to say about the map of Japanese territory.

The thing is, 'sea of Japan' has to be written as 'East Sea', since the area is Korean territory.

First of all, 'East Sea' first appeared in the historical document of Korea in B.C. 59, which was 70 years earlier than the year when the name of 'Japan' was officially first used.

Also, it is not apporpriate to called the sea using one certain country's name since meets four countries(South Korea, North Korea, Russia and Japan) on its border.

Therefore, it is reasonable to correct 'the sea of Japan' to 'East Sea' due to these reasons.

If you do not mind, I would like to appreciate for reviewing my email and giving the reply to this email address.

Thank you very much.

Sincerely,

Rahyeon-Tae
