The name of the sea between the Korean
Peninsula and the Japanese archipelago, currently named as the ¡°Sea of Japan¡±
in your article, should be corrected to be the ¡°East Sea¡± due to following
reasons.
First, the name "Sea of Japan"
was decided in the period of Japanese imperialism. In that period, Japan
forcibly marked "East Sea" as "Sea of Japan". Therefore it
seems unreasonable to use the name "Sea of Japan".
Also, according to international
organization, it is noted that ¡°If each of two or more countries use different
names, the international organization advises the name¡¯s simplification, and if
it can¡¯t, it has to use both names.¡±
