Dear Volcano Discovery,

Hello, Volcano Discovery,
I'm Jin-hee Lee from South Korea. I'm a high school student in Korea. As a student interested in geology and history, while searching about 'East Sea', I found that your website includes a wrong information. A wrong map in included on your website(https://www.volcanodiscovery.com/earthquakes/6097807/2021-02-13/14h07/magnitude7-Japan.html). I would love to ask you for a change about this mistake on your website.

Before asking you a change, I would love to briefly explain why this needs to be changed.
The sea between Korea and Japan should be called as 'East Sea', as the sea is Korea's territory.
Historically for 2000 years, not only in Korean maps but also in old Japanese maps, it was called 'East Sea', not 'Sea of Japan'. So the name 'East Sea' was the title that was used for a long time.
However, though ¡°East Sea¡± was the name that was used for 2,000 years, due to Japanese occupation, the sea started to be called as 'Sea of Japan'. So, though the historical name of that sea is 'East Sea', it started to be called as 'Sea of Japan'.
Also, according to IHO( International Hydrographic Organization), world's seas should use standard international titles, and 'East Sea' is the title chosen by IHO.
In short, historically and internationally, 'East Sea' is the correct title for the sea.

So I want to ask you some help to change the map on the article to one with 'East Sea' written, instead of 'Sea of Japan'.

It would be a great help from you if you change the map or the title of the sea on the map. It would be helpful as Korea is trying to change the maps to title the sea as 'East Sea'.
Thank you for reading this long email. I hope you have a wonderful day.

If you have any question, feel free to contact me. My email is ' jh030357@naver.com'.
Again, Thank you so much.

Sincerely, Jin-hee Lee.
