Dear Japan Institute of International Affairs,

Hello, this is Jae-seong Jeong, a member of the Dokdo Cyber Band.
While surfing the internet, I came upon an article written by Takashi Tsukamoto titled "An Outline of the Territorial Dispute over Takeshima". The article redirected to the Japan Institute of International Affairs.

It is my opinion that the articles written by Susumu Takai, Takashi Tsukamoto, and Arata Yokokawa on the topic "Takeshima" contain various major/minor errors. First, the body of water between Korea and Japan is not the "Sea of Japan". It seems unreasonable to use the name "Sea of Japan", which was decided in the period of imperialism. The proper name would be "East Sea", which has been used throughout history. Also, the island written as "Takeshima" should be "Dokdo", which is the rightful name of the island. Moreover, the articles contained various historical statements that were incorrectly distorted from the facts in order to be advantageous to Japan. I would like to maintain that historical evidence should not have personal ideas distort them, but should be used in a proper manner.

I hope that the errors in your website will be corrected and the writers of the articles be informed. If you do not mind, could you let me know an e-mail address of the person in charge or another possible way to request corrections, please?
Thank you again for your help. I look forward to hearing from you.

Yours sincerely,
Jae-seong Jeong
