This website is described as 'Sea of Japan'. 

However, it is incorrect notation to write ‘Sea of Japan’.

It is desirable to be marked with the continental-level name "East Sea". 

Let me explain why.

Looking at the map, the East Sea is bordered by four countries, including South Korea, North Korea, Russia, and Japan, and is a place where the sovereignty of a number of countries is clearly geographically, economically and politically covered by the territorial sea and the exclusive economic zone (EEZ). 

Therefore, it is not correct to write the name of a specific country alone. 

Furthermore, looking at international standards, international organizations recommend "unification of names when using different geographical names for regions shared by two or more countries, and otherwise, each name must be added until agreement between the countries concerned". 

Currently, Korea and Japan have different arguments, so it is in accordance with international standards that the two nominations are listed together until an agreement is reached. 

Therefore, the expression 'Donghae' is more correct than 'Sea of Japan', and if there is still no agreement,'Donghae' and 'Sea of Japan' should be added together.

Despite the existence of such clear norms, Japan insists that it is the 'Sea of Japan'.
