Dear gettyimages

Hello. This is Yujin Hwang, a member of Dokdo Cyber Press of South Korea. I would like to tell you a wrong information I found on this site.

º»·Ð

In this page, you are using the word 'Takeshima'. But 'Takeshima' is misnomer. 'Dokdo' is a correct expression. To further explain, South korea and Japan is in territorial disputes now and I would like to recommend you to write down two names together like 'Dokdo/Takeshima'.

Moreover Dokdo is South korea's territory. For its evidence, first, Korean territory, Ulleungdo is more closer to Dokdo than the Oki islands of Japan. Second, and by international law, Dokdo is the territory of the South Korea. In 1900, Great Korean Empire internationally promulgated Dokdo sovereignty of the Joseon Dynasty by edict No. 41 report. It was faster than Japan's announce in 1905. Third, in January 1946, Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers excluded Dokdo from the Japanese territory by SCAPIN 677. There should be other orders or announces to modify United Nations's decision. Since then, however, there have been no other orders or agreements, so Dokdo is the territory of Republic of Korea. In addition , there are also many historical evidences.

I request you change the mark of 'Takeshima' to 'Dokdo' in order to  provide correct information on internet. Thank you for reading a long mail and I will be waiting for your reply.

Best regard, Yujin Hwang
