Hello my name is Cheon Wook Park, a student currently in Daejon science high school. I am writing this letter because I want to say that "East Sea" is the right word instead of "Sea of Japan'. There are lots of supporting details that it is called as the East Sea.

º»·Ð
Firstly, many Korean historical facts show that this sea was called as the East Sea starting from a long time ago. ±¤°³Åä´ë¿Õ¸ªºñ(414), ¼º´ö´ë¿Õ ½ÅÁ¾(717), and »ï±¹»ç±â(1145) are some historical relics. However, starting from the 19th century, Japan started to become a stronger country, and it started to be called as the Sea of Japan. Also, recently, a map made 200 years ago from England marks the East Sea 'Gulf of corea' which proves that Sea of Japan is an incorrect expression.

Wrong expressions can bring confusions to tourists who visit Oki Island through your website. Unlike Japan, South Korea claims the expression that respects both countries. Thank you for reading my letter, and I hope it changes as quick as possible.
