Dear administrator, Hello, I'm Jieun Kim from Korea and I'm a high school student here. I found your website is using the term 'Sea of japan' or 'Mer du japon' only by itself. However, the name 'Sea of japan' should not be used alone for the following reason.

'Sea of japan' is actually should be called 'East sea'. From The three kingdoms era, koreans have called the sea 'East sea' and many old maps made worldwide contains the name 'East sea', not 'Sea of Japan'. The korean government is trying to fix it since Korea joined the UN in 1991, too. Also, International organizations like UN and IHO claims that if two countries have conflict over a name of territory between two countries, we should use both working names.

For these reasons, I hope you add the name 'East sea' next to the 'sea of japan'. We have not made the agreement of the sea name, so until then we should follow the international standard of sea name use. Thank you for reading my e-mail until the end and if you need further information, contact me in email: sopia030206@naver.com. Best regards, Jieun Kim |
