Dear. Union of Concerned Scientist.

Science for a healthy planet and safer world.

Hello. I am a member of Dokdo press corps, Junghyeon Lim in South Korea.

thank you for writing many information about Climate Hot Spots on your site ¡°Climatehotmap.org¡±.

The reason why I try to contact you like this is

to say something about "Sea of Japan" that you spelled on ¡°Climatehotmap.org¡±.

º»·Ð

For example, in past, the sea between Frace and United Kingdom was spelled English channel/la manche.

For example, in past, the sea around the French Republic, the United Kingdom, the German Federal Republic, and the Kingdom of Denmark is called many names to use their countries' language.

However, time passed, International Hydrographic Organization (IHO) was established, the sea is spelled "North Sea".

because it¡¯s located in the Eurasian Continent's north.

°á·Ð

"East Sea" is located in the Eurasian Continent's east.

According to above case, We would like you to change the description from ¡°Sea of Japan¡± to ¡°East Sea¡±.

I will be looking forward to your reply.

Thank you!

Your sincerely,

Junghyeon Lim, in Dokdo press corps.
