Hello, I'm a high school student in Korea. I'm sending you an e-mail because I found an error on your website. I found you used the name of the sea as 'sea of japan'. However, it should not be used alone for the following reasons.

º»·Ð

The ocean lying between South Korea and Japan is called "East sea." In Korea, the name "East Sea" was used for more than 2000 years from the era of three kingdoms. South Korea's government has been trying to fix this marking problem since 1991 after Korea joined the United Nations. Many international organizations, such as IHO, UNCSGN, usually assume that using each names if it is difficult for two countries to reach a consensus on Landmark names.

I read your article and thought that it is interesting and useful, and I know that you mentioned "other names", but that does not mean that you should do so. Because you should add the name "East Sea" to the title of your post too, and it should be treated as same as the name "Sea of japan".

°á·Ð

For these reasons, I hope you add the 'East sea' next to the 'sea of japan'. We don't have the decided name, and we should follow the international standard of sea name use.

Thank you for reading my e-mail.

Sincerely,

Jieun Kim
