Hello! We are Jeohyeon high school students Jimin Gang, Mihyeon Ryu, Yunjeong Sim, Jiin Lee, Hyemin Song of the Dokdo press corps.

We found some incorrect information on the map of the homepage so we wrote this to inform the contents of it.

When we entered this homepage, the location of Dokdo, which is the territory of Korea wasn¡¯t marked on the map.

Also, we could check the location of the sea located between Korea and Japan only when we searched the ¡®Sea of Japan¡¯, although the ¡®East Sea¡¯ and the ¡®Sea of Japan¡¯ were both marked on the map.

Dokdo is the territory of Korea, located at 135th meridian east, 37 ¡Æ north latitude.

Korea's record of ruling over Ulleungdo and Dokdo can be first found in the <Chronicles of the Three States>, an ancient book written in 1145.

And until now, Korea has recognized Dokdo as our territory and continued to exert sovereignty over it.

For more details about Dokdo, we recommend you to ascertain in http://dokdo.mofa.go.kr/eng/ .

Also, considering the historical legitimacy of the name of the East Sea, the topographic characteristics of the East Sea waters, and the international norms on geographical names ect., it is right to use the name of 'East Sea' of Korea and 'Sea of Japan' of Japan together.

So we thought that equal opportunity must be provided to the ¡®East Sea¡¯ when doing activities like searching for the location of particular area on the map.

Actually, ¡®East Sea¡¯ is the appellation which has started to be used 700 years before the appearance of the nation named ¡®Japan¡¯.

For people who don't know much about this, it can be viewed that the real appellation of the area is not the ¡®East Sea¡¯ but the ¡®Sea of Japan¡¯, owned by Japan alone.

We hope you to accept our request and to correct the informations.

Thank you!
