Hello, I am Jieun kim, a high school student from Korea and I am writing this letter to inform you that there is an error on your site. The sea between Korea and Japan is not the 'Sea of Japan' and it should be called 'East sea'.

There are many valid reasons for this. First of all, ‘East Sea’ was the name of the sea from the Three Kingdoms Period and used for more than 2000 years in Korea. There is also an international standard for sea naming. IHO, UNHRC and many international organizations are asking both countries to name their territorial names unless they are already in conflict over them.

I sincerely hope ‘East Sea’ and ‘Sea Of Japan' to be written together on your map : since the 1990s, when the South Korean government joined the United Nations, the government is trying to correct this.
