Hello, I'm Jieun Kim from Korea and I'm a high school student here. I found your website is using the term 'Sea of japan' or 'Mer du japon' only by itself. However, the name 'Sea of japan' should not be used alone for the following reason.

The sea located between Korea and Japan, which you called 'Sea of Japan', is actually called as 'East sea' for more than 2000 years since Korea was in The three kingdoms era. But it is wrongly known as 'Sea of japan', so the korean government is trying to correct it since 1991, the year Korea joined the UN. Also public organizations and individuals like me are trying to correct it.

Also, international organizations such as IHO, UN are suggesting to use both name if two countries haven't decided or agreed to use one name.

For these reasons, I hope you add the name 'East sea' next to the 'sea of japan'. We don't have the decided name of the sea, so we should follow the international standard of sea name use.
