Dear Webmaster,

Hello, I am Dongwoo KIM, a middle school student in Korea.

I found a mapping error while Korea and Japan were in dispute over territory using your website. First of all, thank you very much for your website that provides useful content for my research.

Dokdo is korea's cultural property.

However from 19th century, Japan keep insisting that Dokdo is their land and started to use Takeshima instead of Dokdo. Reasons why Japan says Dokdo is their land is because they found it first and nobody was living there when they first found it. However from historical data, it is easy to find that there is a record from 16th century in which Dokdo was painted. Also, from Sanfrancisco treaty in 1952, it is said that Dokdo belongs to Korea.

Therefore, Dokdo is explicitly Korea's territory and it should only be called as Dokdo instead of Takeshima.

I hope that errors in your website will be corrected. If you do not mind, could you let me know an e-mail address of the person in charge or another possible way to correction, please?

Thank you again for your help. I look forward to hearing from you.

Best regards,

Dongwoo KIM
