To Jamie Seidel

This is Jin-young Heo who studies in South Korea, also I'm highschool student. I am working on a project on typographical errors and the environment. First of all, thank you for the site that provides a lot of information

However, I found that there is an error on this site. It is the name ¡°

Sea of Japan¡±. The East Sea is owned by the Republic of Korea and not by Japan.

It seems extremely inappropriate and frankly appalling, that an educational site would be so ill informed to blatantly use of such designation with complete lack of regard for the dispute between the two countries. Your site should educate not spread misinformation.

Using the proper name for the body of water between Korea and Japan is not simply a question of naming a geographic area but is part of a national effort by the Korean Republic to erase the legacy of Japanese Imperialism and to redress the unfairness that has been resulted from that period. The way African-Americans were enslaved, so was the Korean people.

Therefore, I urge you to use 'East Sea' to describe the body of water in question or to use both Korean and Japanese designation simultaneously  in your contents and maps.

I would like to attach some references to help your understanding of this matter. I hope that errors in your website will be corrected. If you do not mind, could you let me know an e-mail address of the person in charge or another possible way to correction, please?

Thank you again for your help. I look forward to hearing from you.

Yours sincerely,

Jin-young, Heo
