Dear reporter,

Hello. This is Kyung Hyun Lee who studies about the situation of South Korea and North Korea in South Korea.

I have a project and research about North Korea's provocations, using your report. I really thank you for your report which provides useful contents for my research.

However, I have found some minor different information in your report from other sources during the research. In the map of your report, the name of the sea between Korea and Japan is described as "Sea of Japan". It seems unreasonable to use the name "Sea of Japan" which is decided in the period of imperialism because its original name is "East Sea" which has been used throughout history. Historic name of 'East sea' first appeared in the "Goguryeo King Dongmyeongseong 's term", and "Tombstone of King Gwanggaeto","The Chronicles of the Three States", "The Heritage of the Three States" listed of "East sea" designation, too. The case of forigen countries, 'Map of East Asia' of Mamual (A.C.1615) said East Sea 'MAR CORIA', and many Japan maps like Takahashi Kagayasu's 'Shinjeong Bay National Exhibition' discribed 'East Sea'. And If you surch reason why 'East Sea' is correct, you could find many data of it. Therefore, I believe that the body of water between Korea and Japan should be described as the ¡°East Sea¡± or at least with the simultaneous use of both names; ¡°East Sea/Sea of Japan.¡±

Thank you again for your help. I look forward to hearing from you.

Yours sincerely,

Kyung Hyun Lee
