I found that the sea between the Korean peninsula and
  Japan was labeled as the ¡°Sea of Japan¡±, which should be corrected.  ¡°East Sea¡±, the right name has been called over 2,000 years.  After Japan started to invade Korea early 20th century, ¡°Sea of
  Japan¡± was used.  This expression is a reminder of Japanese colonialism and therefore should be refrained from wide use these days.  Many historical maps and other evidences support  this fact on naming this sea.  |
