Dear Mister/Madam

Hello, I am Yongbin Cho, a member of Dokdo Cyber Press of South Korea. I would like to ask you a favor about the map on your website.

¡®Dokdo¡¯, which is an island on the East sea, is wrongly named ¡®Takeshima¡¯. Please notice that ¡®Dokdo¡¯ is Korean territory.

º»·Ð

The name ¡°Dokdo¡± has long been used by the Korean people. This is the legitimate name that should be used internationally.

Historically, Dokdo has been part of Korean territory since 512 A.D. Since that time, Korea has had control of the island. A few Korean citizens reside on Dokdo, and the Korean police guard the island.

During the Russo-Japanese War, Japan plundered the Korean Peninsula. In 1905, near the end of the War, Dokdo was illegally taken over by Japan. But under the Potsdam Declaration and Cairo Declaration, the Allied Forces returned the island to Korea.

°á·Ð

Again, the name ¡°Dokdo¡± has long been used by the Korean people and should be used internationally.  I would like to request you to use the name "Dokdo" when you refer to the island.

I hope you will be able to make appropriate corrections on your website. I look forward to your cooperation.

Thank you very much for your time and consideration.

Best regards,

Yongbin Cho
