Dear 'Office of Policy Planning and Coordination on Territory and Sovereignty',

Hello, 'Office of Policy Planning and Coordination on Territory and Sovereignty',
I'm Jin-hee Lee from South Korea.
I'm a high school student interested in geology and history.
I'm sending you an email to ask some favor.
While browsing your website, I found a serious error on the website below.
I noticed that your website include wrong information about Dokdo.
You have been using the map that refers 'Dokdo' as 'Takeshima'.

º»·Ð
I want to ask you to change this errors into correct way of referring.
Can you give me few minutes for me to explain why 'Dokdo' should be wrote as 'Dokdo', instead of 'Takeshima'?
I'll briefly explain why.

First of all, Takeshima is the Japanese name for Dokdo and 'Dokdo' is right way to refer this island.
As this island has been Korea's territory historically.
Historically, the island between Korea and Japan should be called as 'Dokdo'.
Dokdo was Korean territory since 512.
And it also appeared as the name of Usando in 1454 in our historical records. (This is 213 years faster than Japanese recognition of Dokdo, which happened at 1667.)
'Dokdo' was Korea's island from the past.

Also, Dokdo is closer from Korea than Japan geographically, showing that the island belongs to Korea.

It would be a great help from you if you change the map or the title of the island on the map.
I hope for an appropriate response from your website.

Thank you for reading this long email. I hope you have a wonderful day.

If you have any question, feel free to contact me. My email is ' jh030357@naver.com'.
Again, Thank you so much.

Sincerely, Jin-hee Lee
