In the map about Korea and Japan you used in the article linked as http://nation.time.com/2012/08/16/wars-legacy-plagues-japan-and-its-neighbors/, the sea between Korea and Japan is named 'Sea of Japan'. However, I think that this should be changed by mentioning both names 'Sea of Japan' and 'East Sea'. Actually, a conflict between the name of ‘Sea of japan’ and ‘East Sea’ still exists and it’s not over, so it will be the best option to use two names together until the two countries agree on the common designation of the UN and the International Hydrographic Organization. Moreover, I believe that it is not fair to confine the ocean's name as a country's name though it is surrounded by many countries. When the site remains the name ‘Sea of Japan’, it seems to side with one side of the other when the conflict is not over.
