Dear Webmaster,

I am a student journalist in South Korea's <Dokdo Saving National Movement Headquarters>. Our headquarter is trying to fix errors that marks Dokdo(wrongly known as Takeshima or Liancourt rocks) or East sea(wrongly known as the Sea of Japan) around the world in websites and newspapers.  I am an ardent user of your website, and i sincerely appreciate your effort to publish many great maps. However, while researching for some maps of Eastern Asia, I came to found that a few maps had errors.

https://www.researchgate.net/figure/Map-of-the-Sea-of-Japan-and-adjacent-land-areas-showing-the-known-geographical_fig5_44176257 According to this site, it marks the East sea both as the Sea of Japan and the East Sea. We still thank you for marking the East sea, however, the term Sea of Japan should not be included. It becomes a long history, where we have been arguing for these changes around the world. Historically, Korea(When it was not divided as North and South) was the first country to name the sea as the East Sea(In korea, we pronounce it as Dong-Hae, Dong means East and Hae stands for sea). Moreover, there have been numerous historical evidences that eben Japan marked the Sea as the East Sea in the past. However, currently, under the regime of Abe Shinzo, the prime minister of Japan, they are arguing in nonsense without any look back on their history. I do not have a great political power as a student, but I believe it is myself and our headquarters effort that can change the whole paradigm of these errors prevalent around the world.

Therefore, we modestly ask you to fix the current errors on your website. We don't believe that this is a political issue; rather, it should be like what it must be, and it is indeed a historical problem. As politics should not be linked in any source with the facts of history, we sincerely ask you to participate in our movements.

Sincerely, Do hyun Kim from South Korea.
