Dear Shimane Prefectural Government,
Hello. I'm Jinhwan Yoon from Seoul, South Korea.
I'm currently studying history in Dan-kook high school, and I found a serious historical error on your publication below.
https://www.pref.shimane.lg.jp/admin/pref/takeshima/web-takeshima/takeshima02/syucho-english.html
I want to inform you that the correct term for the island on the east sea is Dokdo and that Dokdo is our territory.

º»·Ð

Dokdo is a small rock island in the southeast of the East sea and consists of 91 islands, big and small. Japan is consistently arguing that Dokdo is the territory of Japan and using the term 'takeshima' to describe it. But it is clear that Dokdo is the territory of South Korea and the reasons are as follows. South Korea has known the existence of Dokdo since a very long time ago and numerous historical documents support this. For example in Samguksagi, one of the oldest historical book in Korea, it is recorded that Silla called Dokdo as Usando after king Isabu had conquered Usanguk Moreover in the 1500s, Joseon's fisherman An young Bok visited Japan and returned with a paper that says "Ulleungdo and Dokdo is the territory of Joseon. In 1900s, Dokdo was officially incorporated into Gangwon-do province through the forty-first article of Korea's imperial order. Even some documents from Japan says that Dokdo is the appropriate name and that the territory belongs to South Korea.

Again, your publication is full of incorrect information and I feel so aggravated to see it.
I strongly ask you that you rectify your publication entirely. including changing the map to the one that uses the correct term, 'Dokdo'.

Sincerely
Jinhwan Yoon
