Dear, Webmaster Hello, my name is JIWOO LEE, from Tokyo Korean High School in Japan. Currently, I am actively working as a member of Dokdo Cyber Press of South Korea. I decided to take this time to email your website when I came across an article where 'The East Sea(a.k.a Donghae) ' was indicated as the 'Sea of Japan'.

Actually, 'The East Sea' is territory of South Korea and Japan, and it is also officially right to call it 'The East Sea' according to international law established by the UN. But, the name 'The East Sea' is often ignored by the Japanese, who believes this sea belongs to them. The fact is that the sea should be called for both 'Sea of Japan' and 'The East Sea' in order to indicate two country's stance at once.

I truly understand that you do not want to be involved in tension between Korea and Japan over territorial issues. Therefore, I do not ask you much but just to include 'The East Sea' next to the name 'Sea of Japan' in your article. I believe the usage of the word 'The East Sea' and 'Sea of Japan' concurrently would not cause you much problem, so I humbly ask for your attention and interest in changing the name. Thank you for taking time to read this email regarding article correction. I look forward to receive a delightful response from you. Yours sincerely, JIWOO LEE |
