Hello I am Hyunjun Lee from South Korea

I recently visited the website and found a news related to the Sea of Japan.

I am sending this letter to ask for correction of the mistake that you marked Korea's East Sea as Sea of Japan.

º»·Ð
The territory which is marked as Sea of Japan is actually called as East Sea by Koreans for a long time. It can be confirmed in historical sources or books.

"East Sea" in the sense of the sea located to the east of the Eurasian continent is a more neutral and appropriate name. And since Korea and Japan are struggling about this problem, it will be the best way if the two names "East Sea / Sea of Japan" are used together.

It needs to be considered that 50millions of South Koreans, 20millions of North Koreans are using this name, which is violating the general principle of cartography, which prioritizes names used by local residents.

Thus, "Sea of Japan" written on the website needs to be fixed to "East Sea" or "East Sea / Sea of Japan". It will be thankful if the incorrect notation be corrected, and I am looking forward of the consideration.

Sincerely,

Hyunjun Lee
