Dear webmaster of Shipsnow.com.
Hello. This is A Yeon Son, I am a high
school student in South Korea.
I recently visited your website: http://shipsnow.com.
And first, I would like to thank for providing useful information of your
website. But I send this comment because I found an error within your site. The
error is about the writing in ¡®Sea of Japan.¡¯ I tried to find the sea between
Korea and Japan, but I have found some different information in the title. In
the title of your website, the name of the sea between Korea and Japan is
described as just ¡°Sea of Japan¡±.

It
seems unreasonable to use only the name ¡°Sea of Japan¡± which is decided in the
period of imperialism, because its original name is ¡°East Sea¡± which has been
used throughout history. According to UN
and International Hydrographic Organization, if the countries do not agree on
the same name, marking all the names in each language is recommanded. Therefore,
I hope you to use of both names; ¡®East Sea/Sea of Japan.¡¯ with the simultaneous
to describe the body of water between Korea and Japan.

Thank you for reading my comment and I
would appreciate your consideration about modification of writing ¡®East Sea¡¯ as
well as ¡®Sea of Japan.¡¯ in the title too as on the map your site used. Also, I
would be grateful if I can hear your consideration about this modification to ncmac03@gmail.com.
Yours sincerely,
Ayeon Son
