Dear relevant person,

Greetings

I am Seonwon Kim, a high school student from South Korea.

I am afraid that you may be frightened for getting this letter from a strainger.

But, I am sending this email and have to mention that you should correct an error, 'Sea of Japan' to ¡®East Sea¡¯.

Now I am going to tell some reasons as follows.

º»·Ð

'East Sea' is a very popular name in the East Asia.

This name has been told over 2,000 years. You can see East Sea in the many old maps in East Asian countries.

No other name was used rather than 'East Sea' up to the 18th century.

The International Hydrographic Organization recommends ¡®marking at the same time¡¯ for disagreement of using a single name for the terrain they share.

Therefore, the sea between Korea and Japan may be described as the ¡°East Sea¡± or "East Sea/Sea of Japan".

°á·Ð

Many conflicts between Japan and Korea exist including East Sea.

However, historical backgrounds and evidences consistently supported East Sea is the clear term.

We keep going to correct all of errors step by step.

Please reply to me if any positive change occurs.

I appreciate to your time and patience of reading my letter.

Sincerely,

Seonwon Kim
