Dear mapsoftheworld.com,
Hello, I'm JinHee Lee from South Korea. While searching some geological information on your website, I found that your website wrote a wrong information on the map. On the 'map of Japan', I found that your website wrote 'East Sea' as 'Sea of Japan'.
As an participant of a social act called 'Saving DokDo', which participants are working hard to correct the way how people write 'DokDo' or 'East Sea', I felt a need to send you an email.

To be straight, 'Sea of Japan' is not a right way to call 'East Sea'. Geologically, 'East Sea' belongs to Korea, so it should be written as 'East Sea' instead of 'Sea of Japan'. I know that you wrote 'East Sea' and 'Sea of Japan' together, as there are some controversial going on related to that specific part of the sea. However, the right way is to write it as only 'East Sea', not both of them.
Also, 'East Sea' is the standard title that has been used for 2000 years from old Korea. The name 'East Sea' was used by old Koreans. Even this name was used by old Japanese. Thus 'East Sea' is the historically rooted name for the sea.
Also, regarding the IHO, the international standard name for this part of sea is 'East Sea'. IHO titled the sea as 'East Sea' and recommended to use it as an international standard name.
In short, 'East Sea' was the title that has been used for 2000 years and the name IHO defined as an international standard title. So for these reasons, I want to ask you a favor of changing the map image into another one that uses 'East Sea'.
